the Linguist, after Day 1 of March Break Art Camp

  • me: So how was art class?
  • the Linguist: Good.
  • me: What did you do?
  • the Linguist: We made a box, and we painted it. We left them there because they weren't dry yet. We can bring them home today.
  • me: I can't wait to see it. What else did you learn about?
  • the Linguist: Oh, we learned about Marc Chagall, a famous painter. Have you heard of Chagall before?
  • me: No, not really. What kinds of things did he paint?
  • the Linguist: Well, he painted in a certain way, and he used lots of bright colours, like that.
  • me: Oh, I see.
  • the Linguist: "Great art picks up where nature ends." We learned that today.
  • me: Wow, cool.
