Feeling the need to write something, but can’t get excited enough to blog something serious… what’s the matter with me? I’m procrastinating right now… instead of writing, I’m tumblr-ing and moving video projects from one drive to another. Sigh.

do I really use twitter that much?

My oldest was browsing on the zackandwiki.com website, as we recently got the game for Wii. She happened upon the downloadable content, and saw some of the wallpapers.

her: “What are these for?”

me: “Oh, it’s a picture, for your desktop, in the background.”

her: “Oh, like for twitter?”

me: “Uh… yeah…”

When we renovated our kitchen, one of the things we did with our cabinets was to install a flip down false front in front of the sink. The other day I was opening it and my oldest saw me doing it.

With awe in her voice she asked, “How did you DO that?” I turned to her and said, “Shhh, it’s a secret.”

She considered this for a moment, and then asked, “Does Mommy know?”

It is with sadness that I report our first tank casualty. One of our Otocincluses was found dead this morning during feeding time. Cause unclear. I suspect the pump, because it was stuck in the intake grill area. However, it could just be coincidental, and not the cause of death.

After informing the Linguist, we netted it out and said goodbye.

the Linguist: We made a box, and we painted it. We left them there because they weren't dry yet. We can bring them home today.
me: I can't wait to see it. What else did you learn about?
the Linguist: Oh, we learned about Marc Chagall, a famous painter. Have you heard of Chagall before?
me: No, not really. What kinds of things did he paint?
the Linguist: Well, he painted in a certain way, and he used lots of bright colours, like that.
me: Oh, I see.
the Linguist: "Great art picks up where nature ends." We learned that today.
me: Wow, cool.
